CDPAP is a type of Home Care paid for by Medicaid. It allows eligible New Yorkers to choose, hire, and supervise their own home care aides (‘Consumer Directed Personal Assistants’). These chosen Personal Assistants do not need to be certified, and their work for Consumers is paid for by Medicaid Managed Companies through Fiscal Intermediaries like Heart-to-Heart Home Care.
